Welcome family and friends to the beautiful Adelaide Botanic Gardens where we are gathered to share and celebrate not only in (Bride) and (Groom) love for each other but to also witness their marriage and wish them every happiness for their future lives together.
My name is Shay Irvine and I am a Civil Marriage Celebrant who is authorised by law to solemnise marriages according to law in Australia.
The life bond that (Groom) and (Bride) are about to enter into is not to be taken lightly, but is something that they are entering into with a warm understanding of love, friendship and union.
(Groom) and (Bride) when you pledge to love and care for each other in marriage, you create a spirit that is uniquely yours. A spirit which binds you closer than any spoken or written word can ever do. Marriage is a promise made in your two hearts to be nurtured and fulfilled for the rest of your lifetime together.
May you look forward to the years ahead in giving, sharing and getting to know each other more and may you open your hearts for this opportunity to love one another completely and let this day be one of joy and laughter as you begin the rest of your lives together.
(Bride) and (Groom) - before you are joined in marriage in my presence and in the presence of your witnesses, I am to remind you of the solemn and binding nature of the relationship into which you are now about to enter.
Marriage, according to law in Australia, is the union of a man and a woman to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life.
The vows that you are about to take are an acceptance of that commitment."
Vows
(Groom)
"I call upon the persons here present to witness that I (Groom) do take you (Bride) to be my lawfully wedded wife and lifelong partner.
Loving what I know of you and trusting what I do not yet know. I eagerly anticipate the chance to grow together, getting to know the woman you will become and falling in love a little more every day.
I promise to always love, honour and respect you through tears, laughter and through this lifetime of adventure together."
(Bride)
"I call upon the persons here present to witness that I (Bride) do take you (Groom) to be my lawfully wedded husband.
When I say ‘I love you’ it means that in you I have found a once in a lifetime love, the kind that I know will endure forever. It means that I want to share it all with you – the good times, the sad times, the adventures and the joys.
When I say ‘I Iove you’ it means that I love you just the way you are and every time I’m with you, I discover yet one more thing about you to love. Love is something very precious and when I say it, I mean it with all my heart and I‘m saying it to you – I love you”.
Ring Exchange
(Groom) - “Take this ring and wear it as a symbol of my love so that the world will know that I am yours and you are mine."
(Bride) - “With this ring I wed you as a celebration of my love. My friend, my lover, my partner in life - I will love you forever.”
Declaration
Families and friends, for all of us who have been privileged to share with (Groom) and (Bride) their Wedding Ceremony, hope that the love that they have declared before us will give them the strength to keep the vows that they have made to each other.
We who are present here today hope that the inspiration of this hour will not be forgotten – may you continue to love one another forever.
(Bride) and (Groom) - In recognition of your promises made to each other and with the power invested in me that I now declare you HUSBAND AND WIFE (Bride and Groom) you may now share your first kiss as husband and wife.
